One fascinating cultural aspect of the Glades is the story of the Gladesmen. These resilient individuals built small homes and made their living traveling through the “river of grass.” To cross the terrain, they built narrow wooden skiffs about 2 feet wide and up to 18 feet long, using long wooden poles to move through the shallow, muddy water. They hunted alligators, deer, turkeys, rabbits, hogs, turtles, and other wildlife to support themselves and their families.
Jack Shealy keeps the old ways alive and helps to preserve this disappearing Florida Heritage. Mr. Shealy is intriguing, diverse, entrepreneurial and a strong proponent for the Florida Everglades. For the sake of this description, I shall stop here but suffice it to say that as one who has lived in this area for 40 years, a lot has changed, and not for the good, due to over-development and greed (T.Haney, 2026).

The Everglades yields an unending number of inspirations, our second is the Florida Alligator. These gators are a keystone species here; they may grow to 15 ft. and live to 50 years of age. They are truly ancient creatures, here from the time of God’s great creation. Gators are everywhere, in canals, on the banks and if we are fortunate, we see them crossing sandy and gravel roads as we travel by truck, side by side or in our swamp buggy. Ancient and dark, they have a sway that is all their own.

We live in south Florida and often travel HWY 29 from LaBelle to Everglades City. Panther territory spans from Desoto County to Monroe, with a habitat located near the Cypress Natural Preserve (Everglades). We have spotted the panther on our property, here in Hendry County. Moonshine Mike Python Scent Tame the Wild
The Python Blend inspiration originated from our experiences hunting the Burmese Python in the Florida Everglades. Burmese pythons are invasive in the Florida Everglades, introduced through the pet trade and accidental or intentional releases. They have significantly reduced populations of native wildlife by preying on mammals and birds. Their adaptability to diverse habitats and high reproductive rates makes them a formidable invasive species. (Wildlifeinformer.com/facts).
While hunting, we noted that the pythons hid themselves in woody, grassy, and areas covered in deadfall. At times, they would “periscope at the edge of the grass lines, showing themselves briefly before hiding again”. This blend is respective of our experience and observations.

This blend is inspired by our visits to the Skunk Ape Headquarters and our friendship with David Shealy, Headquarters Owner and Florida Skunk Ape Expert located in Ochopee, FL. In his book, On the Tracks of the Skunk Ape, Shealy reports the existence of the Skunk Ape dates back hundreds of years through documentation of settlers and oral history of the indigenous people. Sealy has appeared on media channels such as Discovery, History Channel and Animal Planet, to name a few. Although we have not had the opportunity to see the Skunk Ape personally, we continue to watch, listen and use the sense of smell when out in the glades.
Unlike the Skunk Ape, this scent opens with a bright, citrusy scent (imagine seeing the Skunk Ape, it would wake us up), and moves quickly, (just like the Skunk Ape, filmed by Sealy, running through the sawgrass), to a grounding grassy scent and ending in a warm, musky dry down.
